Pomegranate shell peeling and seed extraction machine (skin seed separator)
It is a core pretreatment unit in the pomegranate beverage production line, which is placed after cleaning and before pressing and juicing. Its function is to flexibly break open the hard shell of pomegranate, automatically separate the pomegranate peel (shell), diaphragm white flesh, and pomegranate seeds, reduce the tannin in the peel mixed with the juice, avoid bitterness in the juice, and reduce the subsequent filtration burden.


1. Working principle (two-stage flexible crushing and rotary screen separation)
1. Feeding: The whole pomegranate is fed into the feeding hopper by the elevator;
2. First level flexible cracking: The adjustable gap gently squeezes and cracks the outer skin of the pomegranate with the pressure roller, without directly crushing the seeds;
3. Secondary loose breaking: Stir with elastic rubber rollers/mixing shafts to shake off the fruit particles from the white membrane;
4. Drum rotary screen sorting: The perforated rotary screen cylinder collects pomegranate seeds and juice from the sieve holes; Large pieces of pomegranate hard shells and skin residues are separately discharged from the tail of the equipment;
5. Variable frequency speed regulation, adjustable roller gap, suitable for different fruit diameters and soft/hard seed pomegranate varieties.

4. Difference between two process models (choose according to your product positioning)
1) Juice Economy Type（
Standard two-stage crushing and rotary screen separation, high cost-effectiveness; The separated seeds are directly pressed to extract the original juice; Suitable for clear juice/concentrated pomegranate juice drinks.
2) Non destructive fruit grain type
Flexible flipping and striking structure, with extremely high grain integrity; Suitable for pomegranate beverages containing fruit and pulp, with higher equipment costs.

5. Common process pain points and equipment characteristics of customers
Peel debris mixed into seeds: adding a vibrating screen for purification and a floating washing tank at the back end (water selection to remove white pulp);
Grain crushing and juice bitterness: adjust the gap between the crushing rollers, reduce the speed, and replace the flexible rubber roller;
Cleaning and disinfection are troublesome: choose quick release screen and support CIP version for in-situ flushing.
